The flight was one thrill after another... Topped off with Shandon reacting to her Ambien in the middle of the night, waking me up REPEATEDLY to announce my face looked "swollen". This debacle included Tracy having to inspect my face to assure her I was not having an allergic reaction, and maybe that's just how my face looks. Shandon has now sworn off Ambien, I've sworn off doughnuts, and the flight home should be uneventful.
13 hours and 45,672 rounds of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire later, we landed n Taipei, Taiwan. The airport is pretty fancy, with themed lounges for all your themed lounges needs. One minor issue - no water in Taipei today. Yup, none. As in, no working bathrooms. As in, we found a Starbucks and the barista made a giant "X" with his arms and shouted, "No water! No coffee! No beverages!"
We survived the three hour layover, followed by a three hour flight to Bangkok. Immigration and customs was a breeze, and our luggage arrived no problem. We were forced to check our luggage because Eva Air has a weight limit policy of about 3.4 ounces for a carry-on. We were all over the limit (turns out I'm the heaviest packer of this trip... You didn't see that coming), so carry-on it was.
Anyway, our hotel shuttle picked us up and delivered us to our home for the next two days. It is AMAZING. It's in the middle of super busy Bangkok, so it seems out of place. We hung out by the pool, got massages, walked around Bangkok, had Thai food for dinner (although here, of course, they just call it food), and called it a day.
"Here they just call it food"... lol...
